Camera-Lucida is a photographic agency-in-coming dedicated to the veneration of the, yes,
beautiful. Well, some of us just fail to make the Kierkegaard's leap of faith and get stuck at the
plane of the aesthetical. So be it. As it turns out, current intellectual thought is predominated by
the veneration of the miserable and the ugly: we pore at the Bataille's ugly thumb, we are
constantly fed with the sight of the miserable delivered over all sorts of visual media channels, we
ululate besotedly with the discordant sounds of the contemporary-cum-classical music, we like
the cacophony, we relish the deconstracted reality, we revel in an infinite referentiality and we
find ourselves mesmerized with a lot of other quaint things. Sometimes we go as far as to forget
that the things with which we populate our reality are the very things that populate us - things
that define and constract what we are and in which direction we move (cogito ergo sum - sum ergo
cogito...). Hm. Mimetic? Asymptotic? We?
Anyway, since (wo)man is a specular animal, photography has its say in what kind of animal we
ultimately become. It controls, so to say, the food that enters our bloated intellectual stomach (via
the eyes, how else?). Ergo, I'd rather feed it on what pleases my eye/I than what makes it weep
with the tears of an Andalusian dog. You can join me, or go your own way, as you please...

P.s.: The galleries are updated from time to time, so please feel free to come back if you like what
you have found here. You are really welcome here. And remember: a spectator is never passive....

P.p.s.: Well, what about me, socially speaking? Born in Georgia; Studied both in Polythechnic
University (PC&c), and in Tel Aviv University (MA in English Literature, cum laude), Studied
Photography in Open University, in Camera Obscura and in Speos (Paris), won some prizes,
participated in a few exhibitions. Published some poetry. Nothing serious, really...
